The National Outdoor Leadership School The National Outdoor Leadership School is the recognized leader in wilderness education and was founded in 1965 by mountaineer Paul Petzolt to teach wilderness and leadership skills. Though based in Lander, Wyoming, the school operates throughout the western U.S. and in several foreign countries. I was a student on a NOLS semester course in Baja, Mexico and now work part-time as a NOLS instructor. I would like to see more economic diversity in my student groups, and I hope that students from all backgrounds will continue to be represented on these courses. |
